Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is a by-product of the radioactive decay of uranium and radium. Studies of humans exposed to both high and low levels of radon have shown an increased occurrence of lung cancer. Radon gas is colorless, odorless and tasteless, so the only way to know the level of radon in your home is to test for it.
